Flaxseed Laddus - delicious snack of all time

 

Flaxseed Laddus 

 All are fond of snacks.  But, when it comes to sweets, from children to adults, no one is exceptional.  All love to have sweets and desserts, but when it comes with a combination of great taste and health, then no one will ever miss it.

Today, I have come up with one such recipe called 'flaxseed laddus.'  Let us prepare a delicious healthy snack for all age groups, which is highly nutritious and tasty.  Required amount of nutrition can be obtained from this sweet.  This laddu will make you feel energetic.  It is good for skin, hair and weight loss.  It will improve your strength too.


 

Ingredients

 The ingredients that are used to prepare this laddus are healthy.  No sugar or oil is added.

 Flaxseed – half cup

Sesame seeds (black or white) – half cup

Roasted groundnuts – quarter cup

Jaggery – one cup

Water – quarter cup

 

Method of preparation

 Take one cup of flaxseed.  Dry roast in a medium flame for 3-5 minutes.  Do not roast on high flame as it will ooze out oil from the seeds.  Once it starts spluttering, remove it from flame and keep aside.  Allow it to cool.  Then grind into coarse powder and empty it into a bowl.

Take half a cup of sesame seeds.  You can either use black or white sesame seeds of your choice.  Dry roast in a medium flame for 3-5 minutes till the color of the seeds turns to light brown.  Remove it from the flame and allow it to cool.  Grind to coarse powder and keep aside.

 Take quarter cup of roasted groundnuts.  Grind it coarsely. This will add crunchiness to your laddus.

 Now, mix all the ground flaxseed, sesame seed and groundnuts very well in the bowl and keep the mixture aside.

Now, take one cup of jaggery in a pan and quarter cup of water and place it on a high flame.  Stir it well with a spatula till the color changes and becomes sticky.  Now turn on to low flame and add all the mixture of seeds to the jaggery and mix it well.

Now switch off the flame and add half teaspoon of cardamom powder and mix it well.  It will give a nice aroma to the mixture.  Let the mixture cool for 10 minutes.  Place it in a plate and cut into pieces or you can make round balls out of it as laddus.  Place it in an airtight box and consume this delicious healthy snack.
