What is heartburn?
When the acid in the stomach flows back and spatter in the esophagus, then the condition is called heartburn. Sometimes it accompanies with a
hiccup followed by burning sensation in the chest.
Heartburn is nothing but acid
indigestion. It is also called acid
reflux. Heartburn can cause burning and
stabbing sensation in the chest. It can
cause severe pain and discomfort.
Heartburn is a general
symptom of gastroesophageal acid reflux disease (GERD) and acidity. This may be due to various reasons, but the
main reason is food habit. Several
other reasons are obesity, smoking, alcohol, stress, and certain medications. Simple lifestyle and dietary modifications can help
alleviate the heartburn naturally. Heartburn is also an outcome of binge
eating, but if it occurs subsequently, it will damage the inner lining of esophagus and makes the condition even worse.

heartburn symptoms. Almond milk has alkaline

Coconut Water. Coconut
water is rich in electrolytes. These electrolytes
help in controlling acid reflux.
Fresh
Fruits. Fruits like banana, melons, and apples have
natural antacids. These fruits are
alkaline in nature, hence maintains good pH balance. Banana has high fiber contents which strengthens
your digestive system.
Green Vegetables. Green
leafy vegetables, cucumber, broccoli, cauliflower, potatoes have low fat and
sugar content, thus alleviates the symptoms of heartburn.
Oatmeal.
Oatmeal
has a tendency to absorb stomach acid and reduce the reflux symptoms. Starting your day with oatmeal will reduce

Sleeping Position. When you are suffering from heartburn, try to
keep your sleeping positions right. Do
not lie flat on the bed. Keep your head

from the stomach to esophagus.
