Main Reasons for Aging Sign on The Face

You might have seen people with gorgeous skin even at their 40s and there are also people who look old in their 20s itself.  Aging is inevitable.
We cannot change natural aging process, but yes we can prevent premature aging of the skin, especially the aging signs of face.   Facial skin is very thin and sensitive when compared to other parts of the body, and in fact it is the part which is exposed directly to the outside environment and faces all the adverse environmental factors, both internally and externally.

There are enormous reasons that can hasten the process of aging.  The most common reasons are free radicals, sun, stress, lifestyle changes, diet, etc.  You might have noticed that premature aging signs seem to be the most worrisome concern among the age groups who are in their 20s and 30s.  This kind of sudden aging without the age factor may be due to sun, moisture, cold, and environment as well as stress.   Let us see the main culprits behind the aging signs, especially on the face and simple routines to make your skin looks 5-10 years younger.

Free Radicals.  Free radicals can be a curse from dust, radiation, smog, cigarette smoke and pollution.   They cause cell damage at the DNA level.  Free radicals have a lone pair of electrons, thus grab an extra electron from the skin molecules to stabilize it and cause damage to the cells.   Now the skin molecule which lost its electron becomes the free radical again.  Thus, this chain reaction goes on by cell to cell and damages the total facial skin.  It breaks skin elasticity and gives way to fine visible lines on the face.

Sun.  The harsh UV rays from the sun are responsible for 90% of skin aging.  This is called photoaging.  Sun exposure is highly responsible for most of the visible signs of aging on the face.  It robs away the skin elasticity, changes the texture and tone.  Sun is also one of the main reasons for premature aging, wrinkles and easy bruising.  It damages all the layers of the skin.

Stress.  Stress seems to play an important role in all age groups and culprit of all health issues.  Chronic stress can cause premature aging.  The skin which is stressed out shows common signs of aging such as fine wrinkles, acne, dark circles, puffy eyes, dullness, lifeless skin, age spot, loss of complexion, dryness, less elasticity, sunken cheeks and thin lips.

Smoking.  Smoking can speedup the premature skin aging process.  It causes collagen and elastin damage.  Crow’s feet appears much earlier near the eyes of the smoker than a non-smoker.  Skin elasticity will be lost.  Smoking causes uneven skin tone.

Alcohol.  Drinking alcohol can cause wrinkles of the facial skin.  Heavy alcohol can cause premature aging effect.  It will dehydrate the skin.  Drinking alcohol will ruin out your facial skin complexion.  It will increase puffiness around the areas and flushing of face.  Limiting the usage of alcohol is the better option for your overall health as well as the skin health.

Things to Be Followed For Younger Looking Skin

Diet.   Include papaya, broccoli, nuts, avocado, spinach, eggs, and lean proteins in your diet.  These foods will add live to your skin and will make your skin looks younger than usual.  Eat healthy and well-balanced diet.  Avoid processed foods and preserved foods.  Drink plenty of water.  Drinking water will keep your skin healthy and supple.

Exercise.  Workout will not only improve your health condition, but also has positive effects on your skin.   Practice meditation and yoga for your skin health.

Facial Care.  Clean your face gently.  Avoid over scrubbing of skin.  When skin oil is evacuated, skin will lose its elasticity and cause dryness.  Dryness, again is a sign of aging.  Apply a few drops of olive oil on your face while sleeping.  Olive oil contains antioxidants.  It will prevent premature signs of aging.  This will also moisturize your skin and keep your skin aging process at bay.
