What causes cancer is exactly idiopathic in nature.  Cancer can be occurred at any age. Cancer can be caused due to unhealthy lifestyle, hereditary, radiations, viruses, hormones, and much more.  Cancer is nothing but an abnormal growth of cells.  It alters the function at the cell level itself.  You often see healthy individuals who seem to have cancer.  On the other hand, you also witness people who do not follow healthy lifestyle, but still seem to be cancer-free.

There are certain substances called carcinogenic (cancer causing agents) which causes cancer in healthy individuals too.  Many type of cancer shows early signs and symptoms, which can be treated easily.  But there are cancers, which seems to be a silent killer as they do not show any form of symptoms to recognize the growth of cancer.  Individuals suffering from cancer face painful situations during their course of treatment.  Chemotherapy sessions have side effects which are so severe including nausea, vomiting, hair loss, etc.  There are majority of factors that play a vital role in reducing the risk of cancer.  We cannot totally avoid cancer, but to a great extent can be prevented by healthy lifestyle steps.

HEALTHY DIET: 

Check what you eat.  Eating a balanced diet which is highly healthy and nutritious can prevent cancer for sure.  In other words, eating healthy can prevent cancer.  Processed meats such as ham, sausages and red meat will increase the risk of cancer because excessive heating of meat leads to release of carcinogenic byproducts.  Avoid excessive intake of oily foods and salt.  Avoid food or beverages that are high in sugar.   Instead of these, you can switch to healthy broccoli, carrots, onions, turmeric, olive oil, berries, tomatoes, cabbage, etc.  This will reduce the overall risk of cancer.  Lean proteins, whole grain, plant-based foods and healthy fats may prevent cancer.  Eat plenty of fruits and vegetables.  Avoid canned foods, preservatives and added flavors and colors.  Always make healthy food choices rather than opting for food which sounds tasty but not healthy. 

HEALTHY WEIGHT: 

Staying on healthy weight throughout your life may help to reduce the risk of cancer.  Obesity is one of the main reasons behind certain types of cancers.  Obesity can cause increased levels of insulin, increased level of estrogens, thyroid malfunction and much more.   Obesity-associated cancers can cause hormonal imbalances which in turn pave way to female-related cancers.  In order to avoid weight gain and obesity, working out regularly and exercising is the only option along with healthy diet.

EXERCISE REGULARLY:  

Exercise is considered as cancer fighting weapons.  Exercise does not only keep you active and stay healthy, but also prevents certain types of cancers.  Recommending exercise as a part of cancer treatment is in trend now.  Aerobics therapy adds life to your live even during cancer treatment.  Being physically active can prevent the occurrence of most of the cancers which cannot be easily detected during early life.  Leading sedentary life can cause obesity and in turn give way to cancer occurrence.  Exercise will improve your life quality.  Yoga and meditation can also be helpful in preventing cancer and achieving healthy lifestyle goals.


AVOIDING TOBACCO AND LIMITING ALCOHOL:

World renowned fact is that “tobacco causes cancer.”  Tobacco and alcohol are the main culprits behind every cancer and aggravates the cancer slowly.  Individuals using tobacco in the form of cigarettes, cigars, chewing tobacco are at greater risk than the individuals who do not smoke.  Around 30% of cancer is exactly the outcome of tobacco chewing, a research says.  Tobacco and smoking-related cancers can be preventable to a great extent.  Alcohol can cause colorectal, liver, breast, esophageal and head and neck cancers.  Tobacco and alcohol can cause spread of cancer to the other organs too.  Cutting down will reduce the risk of cancer.  In this context, it is very well demonstrated that these two substances are causing cancers.  As we said earlier, cancer cannot be cured at an advanced stage, but can be prevented.   Let us put a stop to tobacco and alcohol usage.

Vaccines are available for most of the cancers nowadays.  They either treat the cancer or prevent it from further development.  Vaccines that treat cancer are called therapeutic cancer vaccines.  These vaccines protect against some viruses that causes cancer.  Vaccines are available for some type of liver cancers and cervical cancers.  Hepatitis B can increase the risk of developing liver cancer, hence Hepatitis B vaccination is highly recommended for individuals who contracted hepatitis B.  In the same way, human papilloma virus (HPV) vaccine can prevent certain type of genital cancers.
