Natural Remedies for Dark Circles

After a long hectic day, mostly by spending a hell lot of time on computers, we are often left with tired, dull and lifeless eyes.  Skin around the eyes is very delicate.  Any changes in the deep layers of the skin around the eyes will instantly reflect.  One such reflection is the dark circles, which seems to be the common problem of all age groups.

Sleep disturbance, stress, iron deficiency, left over eye makeup are some of the factors that contribute to dark circles.  Here comes the natural remedies to remove dark circles.

Sleep – "Sleep like a baby" pattern will work wonders for dark circles.  If you want to get rid of these threatening dark circles, just follow 7-8 hours sleep pattern.  This in turn will lower your stress level.

Left-over Eye Makeup - Make sure you end up your day by cleansing the makeup thoroughly before hitting the bed.

Cucumber – Place thin cucumber slices on closed eyes.  Leave it for 10 minutes.  Rinse it with cold water.  Repeat this daily for the soothing eyes.  Cucumber acts as a coolant and a natural astringent.

Rosewater – Dip cotton pads in rose water and place it on the eyes.  Leave it for 8-10 minutes.  Wash it off with water.  Rosewater has anti-inflammatory properties.  This remedy will give you an instant freshness to the tired eyes.

Olive oil Regular application of extra-virgin olive oil will help reduce the dark circles to a great extent as it has skin-friendly benefits.  Apply olive oil on the eyes and give a gentle massage without exerting pressure around the eyes.  Leave it for 5-10 minutes.  Wipe off the oil with cotton ball.  Wash it off with luke warm water.

Potato Juice  Peel off the potatoes, blend it nicely and extract the juice. Soak cotton pads in this juice and placed it on the eyes for 20 minutes.  Rinse with water.  Follow this remedy twice a week, and for sure you will see the fruitful results.  Potato being a natural bleaching agent, it will lighten the skin around the eyes.

Almond Oil – Gently massage the area around the eyes with a few drops of almond oil at night.  Being the richest source of vitamin E, it plays a vital role in removing those ugly dark circles around the eyes.

Diet – Enrich your diet with vitamin C and protein-rich food.  Fruits like oranges, lemon, berries, tomatoes are good source of Vitamin C.  Salmon Fish, eggs, dairy products and dry nuts will provide protein.  This will lighten the dark circles more effectively.

Goggles – Wearing goggles will provide total protection to your eyes from harsh UV rays and lessen the chances of dark circles.
