After a long tiresome day by prolonged working on systems in an unstable sitting position, our neck tends to hurt a lot.  Wrong sitting posture often causes neck pain.  Other causes may be wrong sleeping position, injury, etc.  Let’s take a break from this annoying and bothersome neck pain by following these easy steps.

Easy Tips To Relief Neck Pain

Ice Pack:  Apply ice pack on the area of the neck pain.  Avoid placing ice directly on the neck.  Place the ice in a plastic bag or a container and then give a gentle compression on the painful area.  It will calm down the inflammation and prevents it from causing further inflammation.

Warm Water Bath with Epsom Salt:  Add 2 cups of Epsom salt in the warm water tub.  Immerse your body in this water, soaking up to the neck level for 20-30 minutes.  It relieves muscle tension and pain.


Warm Water Showers:   Make sure that the warm water coming out of the shower falls directly on the affected area of the neck for 30 minutes.  It will soothe the pain and increase circulation.

Posture:  Practice good posture.  Sit on an ergonomic chair with placing your feet flat on the ground with sit erect position.  Do not sit for prolonged period of time.  Do take a little break and walk around.  Adjust your monitor height and keyboard placement if you are working on computers.

Exercise:  Do range of motion exercises slowly, every now and then, to keep your neck muscles relaxed.   Avoid painful and jerking activities.

Sleep:  Good sleeping position and using proper pillows will keep your neck pain at bay.
