Natural Remedies for Cracked Heels
Natural Exfoliation
First and foremost step in curing cracked
heels is exfoliation. Fill a bathtub
with lukewarm water. Add some Epsom salt
to it. Add some shampoo to this
water. You can also add some leaves of
mint or other herbs. Soak your foot in
this bathtub for 10 minutes. With a help
of pumice stone or scrubber, scrub the dry skin of the heels to get rid of dead cells. Wash it with cold water and pat dry. Apply any base oil to the feet. Do this once a week. Epsom salt will provide relaxation to the tired
feet. Mint leaves and other herbs will
give freshness.
Rice Exfoliator
Take 2-3 tablespoons of rice powder, 2
tablespoons of honey and mix well. Soak
your feet in warm water and then scrub gently with this great exfoliator. Once the exfoliation is over, wash it off
with cold water and pat dry. Apply olive
oil for moisture. Rice will exfoliate
the skin and keeps your feet soft and supple.
Olive oil prevents dryness.
Coconut Oil
Virgin coconut oil can be applied on your
cracked heels every day for better results.
Warm up the coconut oil and apply directly on to the cracked heels. This will provide good moisturization to the
dry heels. Using this remedy everyday
will show visible results in healing the grooves.
Lemons for Cracked
Heels
Mix lemon juice with rose water and
glycerin. Apply this paste on the
cracked foot after gentle exfoliation.
Wear socks on it and leave it overnight.
Wash it off the next morning. The
rough heels will become smooth with glycerin.
Rose water will acts as anti-inflammatory and lemon prevent further cracking
of the heel.
Aloe Vera for Smoothness
Aloe vera keeps your foot hydrated. Active ingredients in aloe vera also soothes the fissures formed due to
dryness. Soak your feet in warm water before applying
aloe vera gel. Pat dry and then apply
fresh aloe vera gel to the cracked heels.
You can leave this on your heels overnight.
Banana
Smash a big ripe banana and apply this all
over the feet, side of the toes and nails also.
Massage it for few minutes. Keep
this for half an hour and then rinse with cold water. You can do this every night and see the vast difference. The vitamins present in it maintain the skin
elasticity and makes your skin smooth.
Vegetable Oil
Clean your feet with warm water and pat dry
with towel. Apply vegetable oil all over
your feet including toes. Wear socks and
leave them overnight. It contains vitamins necessary for skin conditioning. This will
moisturize your foot on whole and nourish your skin.
Sesame Oil
Apply a few drops of sesame oil to the
cracked heels. Massage it in such a way
that it absorbs the oil completely. Leave
it overnight. It efficiently treats the
cracked heels.
Water and Diet
Stay hydrated by drinking plenty of fluids always. Eat a well-balanced diet. Consume whole foods. Avoid processed foods. Avoid smoking and alcohol.
Hygiene
Always keep your feet clean from dirt. Maintain good foot hygiene. Avoid dryness. Apply moisturizer regularly.
